Rowe is a painter of Southern landscapes. His images portray
the beauty and timelessness of the natural world. He began his
art career by attending the School of Visual Arts in New York
City and the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver. His life and
award-winning art have been showcased in newspapers, televisions
and magazines such as Florida Wildlife, Florida Naturalist
and Florida Woods & Waters.
In December of 1986, Charles was chosen to paint the Suwannee
River for the inauguration of former Florida Governor Bob Martinez.
In 1988, 1989 and 1990 Rowe exhibited in the heralded Birds
in Art international exhibition held annually at the Leigh Yawkey
Woodson Art Museum in Wisconsin.
of his work have been shown at the Florida Museum of Natural
History in Gainesville, the Deland Museum of Art. In 1991 Rowe
was named Artist of the Year by the Florida Conservation Association
in acknowledgement of his many contributions to Florida landscape
and wildlife art. Charles Rowe is represented by The Plainsmen
Gallery in Clearwater, Florida, and in galleries throughout
the Southeastern United States.
